What is Durysta?
Durysta is an injection implant that helps relieves the effects of glaucoma for 4-6 months. It is the first and only FDA-approved, biodegradable, implant that helps reduce pressure in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is used to help with the reduction of intraocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma as well.
How does it work?
The implant contains 10 mcg of Bimatoprost in a sustained-release drug delivery system. Bimatoprost is believed to lower intraocular pressure. The implant comes pre-loaded in an single-use applicator to help facilitate the injection of the implant directly into the eye.
